Chapter - 9

Judgment Day
and the end of the earth

The Bible says that this earth will one day cease to exist. I will try to go over what will happen after the end of this earth in the next chapter, but just as our earthly body is temporary, so is this earth.

In order for the destroyed to be fully restored, a new heaven and a new earth are created, and for us living beings, a day of judgment must come, to end the fallen.

The sin the devil first brought into heaven, then in the Garden of Eden must end once and for all. The flood that God did, where Noah and his family were saved by God, was an attempt to put an end to human sin. But the people continued to sin, and they continued to turn their backs on God. The arrangement God made with forgiveness of sins through the priests, the temple and the sacrifice to God in the Old Testament also did not make people stop sinning. And when Jesus came to earth and became a man and then set us free from sin and taught us to know God, He was met with resistance and unbelief. John 1: 9-13 says of Jesus: «That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.»

One of the Bible prophesies about the end of the earth is Jesus himself who says it in Matthew 24. Here is the whole chapter:

«Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

The Great Tribulation

“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

The Coming of the Son of Man

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The Parable of the Fig Tree

“Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

No One Knows the Day or Hour

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

The Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant

“Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.»

Matteus 25:31-46

«When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’ “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.»

I believe the time Jesus describes in Matthew as the last time is soon. It has been said by believers ever since Jesus ascended to heaven 2000 years ago that they believed they were living in the last days. We are still here, Jesus has not returned yet, but this time will come one day sooner or later.

There are several prophetic images the Bible gives us so that we can understand when the end time is near. That's why I think that the end is soon. As we read, Jesus said, "He who reads, he understands." so therefore I say it again and again that one must read the Bible for themselves.

In the prophetic books of Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and Amos, there are some prophecies worth reading. Jesus' own words about the end times in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are also worth a read, and note that Jesus is constantly talking about false prophets and false messiahs. Only the real Jesus is the gate to God, if you have not found it, your name is not written in the Book of Life. Therefore read! If anyone wants to lead and teach you, make sure that what they teach you is in harmony with the Bible!

Finally, I will give you two references to what the Bible says about the end. - When Jesus comes again, it says in Revelation 1: 7a «Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him.»

Every eye shall see Him. It is several years now since a camera was set up on the Mount of Olives in Israel, to monitor and get TV pictures of Jesus when he comes again. It was from the Mount of Olives that He ascended to heaven, the holiday we today mark as Ascension Day. We are in a period of time where almost all of us have a tv screen in our pockets everywhere we go.

Revelation 13: 16-17 «He (Antichrist) causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.» Today, the digital labeling system for vaccines in the form of a date chip is being discussed. Everything is also ready to use a system like this to pay with, identify with, and much more. This is a clear biblical sign of what is expected in the end times, and this mark, I don't think we who believe in Christ should take.

I also mention Antichrist - the world is waiting for a leader who can lead the world to peace. The Bible explains that false Christs and false prophets will arise and lead many people away from the true faith in God. Finally in this world, the Bible says that there will eventually be a world leader the whole world will bow to.

At the time of writing, in this troubled world, that the world should be able to gather around a common leader seems challenging. However, it seems that this is what the UN is working towards and has set a goal of a world government by 2030. There will be a lot of war and unrest in the time leading up to it, but wait and see, one day there will be peace and a powerful leader who looks seemingly good will rise up. This is what I will say about him; Do not bow to him - he is not Jesus Christ!

When Jesus brings home Christians, it will go fast! He will not come and try to lead this world. So, it's not a new world leader we're waiting for.

Matthew 25: 1-13 tells a story of ten virgins, five of whom are ready to be taken when Jesus comes, while the other five are not ready. In this parable, all these ten virgins were Christians, but only five of them were ready. That is why it is so important to stand firm on the Word of God, the Bible. Jesus says in Matthew 24:35 "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall never pass away."

Jesus will bring out His before, during, or after the tribulation. One can find biblical evidence for all three variations of description, so no one knows for sure before this happens. I hope and believe in the best which being taken out of this world before the tribulation, but I prepare for the worst. In any case, if the mark of the beast had not been of significance to us Christians, the Bible would not have mentioned this either, I think. Therefore, we must be vigilant and not succumb to anything that will cost us eternity with God.
